On the Way to Canaan (9)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 35-36
TEXT: “And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel”. Numbers 25 :3 – 4.
On the pathway of destiny, you must be dead to self and sin and put measures in place to completely separate yourself and continue in Righteousness never enticed again by sin. The enemy you defeated yesterday only left you for a season as he did to Jesus when he tempted Him and did not succeed (Luke 4 :13).
He is planning to return to get you down into sin so as to truncate your journey. You must therefore severe relationship with any form of unrighteousness; there is a battle between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. There is no meeting ground between them. To still be ignorant of this is to become a victim of the tricks of the devil.
In verse one and two of the beginning of the chapter of our anchor text, scripture says, “And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their God’s: and the people did eat and bowed down to their God’s”.
The same Israelites who earlier separated themselves began to mingle with those against their faith and God. They relaxed and let down their guns forgetting that the devil earlier after them is still on his mission. Since he couldn’t penetrate them by outright death now from their brethren through the command of God because whoever breaketh the edge, the serpent shall bite (Eccl. 10 :8).
I pray for you, you will not lose your garment of purity as you journey to Canaan.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray now, may I not lose my garment of purity on my way to Canaan.
