TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 7-9
TEXT: Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Proverbs 22 :29.
If you want to go far in life, you must do your part, take responsibility. God did not create anybody poor or rich, good or bad, rather it is the information they get and the action they take that makes them so. Are you diligent in that which you are called to do? Most times when opportunities presents themselves, they look somehow, like punishment.
David was doing what he knows how to do well, being diligent in his course of his duty, when the challenge of Goliath came up against Israel. Knowing fully well that God who saved him when he was protecting the sheep from lion and bear will still do it again, he came up and presented himself to challenge Goliath.
“Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.” 1 Samuel 17 :36.
You cannot stand out without being diligent in that which you are doing. No matter how little it is, give your time to it, be diligent, greater opportunity will present itself to showcase your skill. David was diligent in the bush and when a challenge presented itself in the city, made use of the opportunity. Ason of nobody, not reckoned with, because of being diligent, the King inquired who he was. “And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.” 1 Samuel 17 :58
Moses also stood out in Hebrew 11 :24-25; “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.” Do you want to stand out?
Do something extra-ordinary to impact your generation.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to be diligent in that which you have put in my hand to do, in Jesus name.
