In the journey of life, there are certain restrictions are necessary. You must of necessity have restrictions place on certain persons if you will fulfill kingdom obligations and fulfill destiny. There are limits servants get to with you, and there are heights sons get to with you. In other words, there are extents those that are not crucial in the matters of your destiny get to go with you, so you do not get weary in your divine task.
Abraham with the wisdom of God asked the servants (young men) that went with him to stop at a point while he proceeded with Isaac, a crucial person in the fulfilling of that assignment to the exact place of sacrifice. Listen, several persons have been hurt in life because they first of all fail to differentiate between servants and sons. Secondly, they fail to limit the extent that servants should go to with them by mistaking servants for sons.
A son in this context does not necessarily mean one’s biological child, but someone who is an offspring of one’s spirit, believes one’s vision and assignment, serves with singleness of purpose with an intention of progress and continuity and can stand for the father in words and in deeds. A servant can progress to becoming a son, but not all servants are sons. Servants can be engaged to serve not necessarily believing in the vision and person whom they serve. They can serve for their pay.
From the life of Elisha and the sons of the prophet who stood afar off, we can picture who a son is and who servants are despite they were called ‘sons of the prophet’. May God open your understanding
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! Give me wisdom to apply this counsel.
