Prepare for War!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Hosea 5-6
TEXT: “And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.” Genesis 14 :14.

You cannot avoid war in the journey of life as long as you are a child of God. So you must be battle ready if you will reign in the victory of Christ and not be consumed.
Abram, the man of emphasis in our text above had three hundred and eighteen trained servants battle ready in his house for war so when he heard that his brother was taken captive, he only armed his trained servants and they embarked for war. He did not panic, neither was he troubled in anyway because he was ready with trained men and had the weapons to armed them with. No wonder he came back victorious recovering all that the enemy carried away from Sodom and Gomorrah including his brother Lot and all his goods (vs 16).
Listen, a destructive weapon of war in the hand of an untrained man in battle is useless. The effectiveness of the arms given to Abram’s servants was because of their training. Are you battle ready in the various aspects of life battles? In the days of Abram, their war was in physical combat, but in our dispensation, it is a spiritual war. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph. 6 :12. And the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of Strongholds. 2 Cor. 10 :4.
To be victorious in battle, God instructs us to put on the whole armour of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. And verses 14 – 18; of Ephesians 6, went ahead and stated all the armour to put on.
I pray for you, you shall be battle ready by fire…
