Night Prayer: “Guard Me While I Rest”
Ephesians 6:11 – “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Lord of Hosts,
As night falls and silence surrounds me,
I come to You—not in weariness alone, but in watchfulness.
Though my body longs for rest,
Let my spirit stay clothed in Your armor.

Cover me in Your truth—
That even in my dreams, I will not be swayed by fear or lies.
Fasten around me the belt that holds me steady
When my thoughts wander and the enemy whispers in the dark.
Place righteousness over my heart,
To guard it from guilt, regret, and anything untrue
That tries to return in the quiet hours.
Let Your peace be the blanket at my feet—
A readiness to trust, even while I sleep.
Make me still, not weak; restful, not careless.
Raise the shield of faith over my mind,
That no shadow of doubt,
No haunting memory,
No spiritual attack in the night
Would break through the calm You give.
Let salvation be the helmet I wear into sleep—
The sure knowledge that I am Yours,
Saved, sealed, and secure.
And keep Your Word alive within me,
Sharper than worry, deeper than fear,
A sword that defends even in silence.
Tonight, Lord, I do not sleep as one unguarded.
I lie down armored, not anxious.
You are near,
And Your watch is never weary.
In the name of Jesus—
My strength, my shield, my Savior—
Amen.
