Night Prayer – May 17, 2025 – Saturday
“The Lord said to Aaron, ‘You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.’” (Numbers 18:20, NIV)
Night Prayer – Inspired by Numbers 18:20
Gracious Father, as the night settles in and the noise of the day grows quiet, I turn to You—my portion, my peace, my inheritance. Tonight, I let go of the many things I chased, the burdens I carried, and the voices I listened to that told me I wasn’t enough. You, Lord, are enough for me, even now, even here in the stillness.

So many around me measure their worth by what they’ve earned or achieved, but You’ve whispered something different over my life. You’ve said, “I am your share.” And as I lay down, I receive that gift again—not silver, not land, not fleeting approval—but You, the everlasting God, as the very center of my being.
Forgive me, Lord, for the ways I’ve tried to find security in the temporary. Forgive my restless heart that often forgets its true treasure. Tonight, I trade worry for worship, anxiety for assurance. I confess with quiet confidence that I lack nothing, because You are my portion, and You do not sleep or grow weary.
Let this night be more than rest for my body—let it be a renewal of my trust in You. Remind me in my dreams, and in the silence, that what the world cannot offer, You freely give: presence, purpose, and a promise that cannot be stolen or spent. Guard my thoughts from wandering to empty places; lead them instead to You.
For all that is uncertain about tomorrow, I do not fear. In a world where inheritances fade, You remain—unchanging, faithful, and near. You are not only my hope for the life to come, but my companion through this very night. I rest not just beside You, but in You.
Cover those I love with Your peace tonight. Watch over our homes, our thoughts, our breaths. Let Your presence settle over this space like a soft blanket, and let Your voice be the last I hear before I sleep. You are my shelter, my strength, and my true reward.
Thank You, Father, for the sacred truth of this verse: You are my share. Not tomorrow, not someday, but now. And with You near, I will rest in peace, trusting that what I have in You can never be taken away.
Amen.
