Night Prayer – May 15, 2025 – Thursday – Restful Remembrance
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” — Psalm 103:2 (KJV)
Gracious Father,
As night falls and silence blankets the world, I quiet my heart before You. In the stillness, I choose to bless Your name. Not out of ritual, but out of reverence. Not because I must, but because You have been good — far better than I often remember. Teach my soul tonight not to forget. Remind me gently, even as I close my eyes, of the countless mercies that carried me through this day.
Lord, I confess — I am forgetful. I overlook Your kindness while chasing the next task, the next need, the next demand. But here, under the calm of night, I remember: You gave me breath today. You gave me strength to face what I feared. You shielded me from things I never saw coming. And You were present — even in the silence, even in the stress.

Thank You, God, for the benefits I did not earn: forgiveness that meets me in my mess, peace that quiets my anxious thoughts, and grace that outlasts my failures. You never tire of showing mercy. You never withhold compassion. And tonight, I rest knowing that Your love does not clock out.
If I have spoken harshly, doubted needlessly, or acted selfishly today — forgive me, Lord. Wash over me with Your mercy. Let no regret or restless thought rob me of the sleep You freely give to Your beloved. Let my last words tonight not be worry, but worship.
Wrap my loved ones in Your protection. Guard our homes, our dreams, and our hearts. Let Your angels surround us, and may the darkness outside never touch the light within. For even in the night, You do not sleep. You keep watch over Your children with a love that never fades.
Help me to sleep not only peacefully, but gratefully. May I wake tomorrow with a soul ready to bless You again — not just when things go well, but even when they don’t. For You are worthy of praise in the morning and in the night, in sunshine and in shadow.
So tonight, I lay down all that I am, all that I carry, and all that I hope to be — at the feet of the One who never forgets me. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Amen.
