Almighty God, our Father, another day has opened for me, and I would begin it with You. If I have a little talk with You, I shall be ready to go forth to our work. If I can look into Your face and have You look into our face — I shall not be afraid to go out to meet any danger.
I thank You for the rest of the past night. Many have died since the sun went down — but I have been spared. Now I would give ourselves to You for this new day. I would make it a holy day, and I ask You for grace to do so. May Your word be a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. May its teachings be in my heart, and may I have grace to follow them. Order my steps according to Your word. Let no iniquity have dominion over me. Take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation.
My trust is only in Jesus Christ. I am unworthy in myself, for I have sinned and my heart is evil. But Jesus died for me, and in His name I come, asking for Your favor and blessing. I thank You for Your love, from which neither death nor life can separate me. May I abide in Your love, and may Your peace be upon me always.
I ask a blessing for all with whom my associate in my common days. Make them all Your friends. Draw them all to Yourself. Help me so to walk before You, that my example shall impress them, and make them think of God and heavenly realities. May I speak Your words to those who are in sorrow or in sin — and may Your grace and peace pass through me to many. I put my hands now into Yours as I go out. Lead me, bless me, keep me, use me! I ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
