MFM Today Devotional 26th February 2025 – MESSAGE
Most importantly, beloved brother and sister, take note of the phrases “putting off” and “putting on”. It implies casting off your former ways of living, the corrupt, ungodly things you do, negative in all ramifications. Then, like a garment, you put on the new attributes of a newly born again in Christ, manifesting righteousness and holiness.
You begin to live according to the code of conduct of the heavenly kingdom and no longer of this world. That is why the Bible says that, we are as Christians living in the world but not of the world. We are citizens of the commonwealth of heaven, but living here in the flesh.
You cannot therefore afford to live like a citizen of this world. Not at all! Your lifestyle and conduct must reflect that of the heavenly kingdom of God, reflecting the attributes of Christ in you. You are a new man! Those negative and worldly things you used to do, you can do no more. You are born again and a regenerated man.
Some of the things to put off for your new birth and new life to please heaven are as follows:
(1) The old self or man, which is corrupted and deceitful (2) Bitterness, rage and anger (3) Falsehood and slander (4) Malice, evil, encumbrance and filthy language (5) Deceit, lust and pride (6) Sinful and deceitful nature (7) Worldly attitudes and behaviour (8) legalistic and hypocritical religious practices (9) Pride and self-promotion (10) Pre-occupation with money, material things and future needs (11) Anxious care and fear about daily needs.
On the other hand, you should put on: the new self created in God’s image, righteousness and holiness, compassion, kindness and humility, faith and dependence on God, the full armour of God, etc.
I counsel you, beloved, take time to read again and meditate on today’s Fire Scripture and memory verse. Ask the Holy Spirit to beam His searchlight upon your life and reveal those things to be cast away to you. Then, pray for the grace and power to put on the Christlike attributes, living and doing those things that befit a genuinely born again. With Christ in you, you have eternal life and can live accordingly.

1. O God, by Your mercy give me a sacred heart, in the name of Jesus.
2. My Father, give me the grace to put off the old man and conquer its manifestations, in the name of Jesus.
3. I receive the grace to put on righteousness and holiness, in the name of Jesus.

4. I put on love, kindness and humility, in the name of Jesus.
5. I put on faith and dependence on God, in the name of Jesus.
