MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 6 December 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – The Lord Needs It

Prev: No Iniquity

TOPIC: The Lord Needs It

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Daniel 3-4; 1 John 5

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 21:1-11

MEMORY VERSE: “Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.” – Deuteronomy 15:10

MESSAGE: The Bible gave an account of a colt owner who got a message from Jesus and his life changed gloriously because he gave what he had to Jesus. The message the man received was, “The Lord needs it.” The man released his colt and never lived to regret his action. What was special about the colt? Why did Jesus opt for it when there were several others?

The Bible provides answers to these questions: First, no one had ever ridden the colt before. Second, it was limited and in need of deliverance or freedom. When Jesus set it free and rode it, it fulfilled a purpose. It was really not fulfilling its purpose where it was tied down. The colt was kept in a beautiful and clean state by the owner. That is why Jesus desired to ride on it. When Jesus rode the colt, the fame, honour and glory of Jesus rubbed on the colt. When the people chorused, “Hosanna in the highest. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord”, and they spread beautiful clothes on the way that Jesus passed, the colt He rode upon also shared in the euphoria and blessings of the momentous occasion.

When Jesus demanded for the boat of Peter for preaching and teaching God’s word, Peter obliged. That decision changed Peter’s life forever. He became a member of Jesus’ inner caucus, foremost apostle, fisher of men and carrier of God’s amazing grace, power and glory. The lad who gave Jesus his lunch pack also experienced God’s power of multiplication, increase and engagement. Twelve baskets were left after Jesus had fed the five thousand people.

Beloved, what is it you have in your possession that God is telling you to give to Him? Has the Holy Spirit been prompting you that the Lord needs that money in your hand or account for His kingdom work? Do not ignore the prompting. Don’t disobey the Holy Spirit. When you give it to the Lord, He will use it as raw material to create more blessings for you. What you give to the Lord is what He will use to create your desired miracle, increase and engagement.

When you don’t give Him anything, don’t expect anything because you have not provided Him the raw material to work with. God will not bless the disobedient; if He has said He needs something, whatever it is, please give it to Him willingly and cheerfully.

Abraham was ready and willing to sacrifice Isaac. His faith and obedience impressed God so much that God had to pronounce unusual blessings on Abraham and his seeds. Abraham got more than he was willing to give. Peter got more than he gave to Jesus. Is the Lord demanding that you give Him something today? Do not hesitate to give it to Him. You will definitely be rewarded for your obedience. You will get back more than you gave to Him.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
An important principle of God’s kingdom is that whatever you genuinely give to the Lord will be given back to you in multiple folds.

PROPHETIC WORD:
HENCEFORTH, AS YOU GIVE GENEROUSLY TO GOD, BOTH YOUR HEAVEN AND YOUR DOOR OF BREAKTHROUGHS SHALL BE OPENED.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1 I declare that nothing shall be too great for me to give to God, in the name of Jesus.

2 Father, I consecrate my life to You, in the name of Jesus.

3 My Father, showcase Your glory in my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4 Father, give me the faith of Abraham and let me willingly surrender my Isaac to You, in the name of Jesus.

5 Thank You Father because You will multiply back to me in hundred folds whatever I give to You, in the name of Jesus.

6 Anything making me stingy towards God, die, in the name of Jesus.

7 Father, bless me and let those who are blessed call me highly blessed, in the name of Jesus.
