FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 2:13-25
13ย Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.ย 14ย And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changersย [a]doing business.ย 15ย When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changersโ money and overturned the tables.ย 16ย And He said to those who sold doves,ย โTake these things away! Do not makeย My Fatherโs house a house of merchandise!โย 17ย Then His disciples remembered that it was written,ย โZeal for Your houseย [b]has eaten Me up.โ
18ย So the Jews answered and said to Him,ย โWhat sign do You show to us, since You do these things?โ
19ย Jesus answered and said to them,ย โDestroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.โ
20ย Then the Jews said, โIt has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?โ
21ย But He was speakingย of the temple of His body.ย 22ย Therefore, when He had risen from the dead,ย His disciples remembered that He had said thisย [c]to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

23ย Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw theย signs which He did.ย 24ย But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because Heย knew allย men,ย 25ย and had no need that anyone should testify of man, forย He knew what was in man.
MFM Devotional 8 April 2026 | MESSAGE
The ministry of Jesus Christ was so impactful and full of exploits. This made many of the Jewish people believe in Him. However, Jesus was not carried away because there is a wide gap between believing in the Lord and laying the totality of one’s life upon the altar as a living sacrifice. So, Jesus did not commit Himself to them. Beloved, can Jesus commit Himself to you in this generation? What does it mean for Jesus to commit Himself to you? It means:
1. Jesus pouring His life into you.
2. Jesus pouring His fullness into you.
3. Jesus making you a carrier of His presence.
4. Jesus making you a receptacle for His divine ability.
5. It means Jesus giving you a role to fulfil in God’s end-time programme. You are not a flippant individual, and you are highly disciplined.
For Christ to commit Himself to you, He must have tested you, proved you, and found you worthy of that glorious honour of hosting His life. It then means that Jesus has found you to be trustworthy, dependable and found you to be a person of integrity. You are not a prodigal child who fritters away divine resources. You are not a frivolous person.
Unfortunately, Jesus Christ can not commit Himself to many believers despite their cry. lamentation, and prayers. Why? The majority of Christians do not have the right kind of heart that will attract such a profoundly glorious blessing. For instance, there was this case of a brother who was fasting and praying for many days, asking God to entrust His power and anointing to him, but God did not answer. Because if God would entrust His power and anointing to anyone, Jesus must commit Himself fully to the person.
When God did not answer, the brother humbled himself and asked God why He was not speaking to him, and God showed him his very poor standing before the Almighty God. The brother’s life was a repository of different canal vices of stupendous degrees. Beloved, can your life host the King of glory?

1. O Lord, deliver me from powerless Christianity, in the name of Jesus.
2. Powers assigned to make me a profitless vessel, die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Oil of grace saturate my life, in the name of Jesus.

4. Strong man of my father’s house that has vowed to make me a kingdom-deficit, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Wickedness of my mother’s house assigned to bury my star, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. Holy Ghost fire, fall afresh upon me in the name of Jesus.
7. I move from failure to success in the name of Jesus.
