TOPIC: Deal with that Pride

Pride produces ego that needs to be fed and before long you are locked up in your private prison of self-deception.

15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25 JULY 2023 MESSAGE:
Pride is an attitude that is negative in all its manifestations. Pride is a vice; it has nothing good to offer those who embrace it. It will rather do more harm than good to anyone that possesses or engages in it. It adds no value, rather, it diminishes and gradually empties the person to the point of shame and disgrace. It is capable of bringing a person from an exalted position right to the ground. Pride is a master at making its victims experience a crash from grace to grass. Ultimately, God Himself hates the proud and everything that associates with pride.
Pride is when a person is consumed with or overtaken by self. That is, when you no longer see what is good in any other human except you. The proud man or woman talks about himself or herself and praises himself, which amounts to self- glorification. A proud person does not accord glory and honour to God. Rather, he takes credit for what God has done. Pride is the worship of sell. It is deceptive and destructive. There is nothing beneficial about pride. It has no regard for others but self. Pride is a sin!
Isaiah 14:12-15 talks about the audacity and selfishness of satan and his desire to be in the place of God! Pride hardened his heart till he was cast out of heaven and away from God’s presence. This is the reason many people’s hearts are hardened from receiving Christ. Others engage in sinful habits with impunity, even some supposed Christians who claim to be too familiar with God. It is nothing but pride! When pride takes over a man, he is blindfolded from knowing and doing the Truth. How then can a proud man accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, except self is dethroned?
Are you proud of your possessions, achievements, position, beauty or your spiritual status? You are fast falling into the sin of self-exaltation and self-righteousness. You need to break loose and be set free. Don’t pamper yourself! All your critical and hasty judgements, impatience, irritation, bad temperaments, anger and so on, are all rooted in pride. Pride is part of the works of the flesh. The Bible tells us clearly in Gal 5:19-21 that those who engage in such will not inherit the kingdom of God. Decide to be set free from this self-inflicted bondage. Surrender to God and he will humble you and set you free.

MORNING
1. Every seed of pride in my life, be uprooted and cast into fire, in the name of Jesus.
2. Inherited negative habits, I am not your candidate, come out and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, teach me to be humble like You.
EVENING:
4. Any evil habit that wants to destroy me, I destroy you before you destroy me in the name of Jesus.
5. I cast away the haughty spirit from my life, in the name of Jesus.
6. Power to overcome fleshly lusts, come upon me, in the name of Jesus.
7. The devil shall not write the last chapter of my life, in the name of Jesus.
