MFM DEVOTIONAL 7TH JANUARY 2024 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:

Yesterday, we established the timeless truth that the Word of God is eminently invaluable and practical (John 6:68). It is a light and a lamp (Psalm 119:105). It is a sword (Ephesians 6:17). It is bread to eat for our spiritual life (John 6:57-63). It is powerful to save (Romans 1:16; Hebrews 4:12). It is a tool in the hands of the righteous that blesses God and man. Its tremendous blessings are tied to its practical application for daily living. That is why the Psalmist said that in keeping God’s Word, there is great reward (Psalm 19:7-11).

Today, we will continue our discourse on this all-important topic by looking further into the excellency of God’s Word:

(8) It grants hope in life’s pilgrimage – Psalm 119:49, 1 Peter 2:11-12.
(9) It brings God’s provision and care – Psalm 119:57-64, John: 63.
(10) It develops the believer’s character – Psalm 119:65-72, Philippians 1:9-10.
(11) It teaches and helps us to be humble. It separates the reverent from the proud – Psalm 119:73-80, Matthew 5:13-16.

(12) It enables us to demonstrate endurance when persecuted – Psalm 119: 81-88, Matthew 5:11-12.
(13) It helps and encourages us to render service to God – Psalm 119:89-96, 1 Corinthians 7:23.

(14) It gives us the wisdom to avoid sin – Psalm 119:97-104; Romans 7:7.
(15) It gives us light and illumination and also makes us luminous – Psalm 119:105-112; John 8:12.
Dear reader, the Word of God confers other benefits on us (believers):

(16) It grants us divine security or protection – Psalm 119:113-120; Ephesians 6:13-17.
(17) It is our supreme standard of authority – (Psalm 119:121-128; Colossians 3:17.
(18) It satisfies the soul – Psalm 119 129-136; Matthew 5:6.
(19) It reveals the nature of God – Psalm 119:137-144; 1 Peter 1:15-16.

(20) It gives us the confidence and assurance that God is near – Psalm 119:145-152.
(21) It delivers us from bondage and affliction – Psalm 119:153-160; Psalm 22:19-24.
(22) It incites the praise of God – Psalm 119:161-168; Revelation 19:1-2.
(23) It is God’s helping hand to man – Psalm 119:169-173; 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Beloved, this year, honour the Word of God by applying it to your life daily and in all situations. It will sustain you, bring you to God’s presence and bless you massively, now and forever.
