FIRE SCRIPTURE: Esther 2:5-7
5 Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;
6 Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.
7 And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful*; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: Where you are coming from does not really matter as what you are doing to never have a repeat of the negative history of where you are coming from. Your background should not put your back on the ground!

MFM Daily Devotional 4 August 2024 – MESSAGE
In the next few days, we would be gleaning from the life of one of the finest Bible characters, Mordecai. Who was Mordecai? What were his values? What did he stand for and what was his life’s purpose? These and many more questions will be answered as we seek to delve into his lifestyle.
Who was Mordecai? He was the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite. Notice that his lineage could be traced to that of King Saul, the first king of Israel, the same King Saul that messed up and refused to serve the purposes of God during his tenure. Mordecai could be traced to Shimei, the person that cursed King David when he fled from Absalom.
What am I driving at? Mordecai could be said to be coming from a lineage where people do not really finish well and strong, people that could be termed ’misfired arrows’ but Mordecai dared to be different. He chose to toe a different path from those of his ancestors just like Jabez that refused to toe the path of failure. He chose to uphold the lifestyle of faith that is becoming of a true Israeli, rather than the sinful pattern of his lineage.
The fact that someone in his lineage did not end well did not deter Mordecai. The fact that his forebears did not serve God with an upright heart does not mean he must toe the same path. He followed his God with a pure and right heart. He refused to follow evil family pattern and God backed him up.
Beloved, I do not know your family history, but I want to assure you that your case is different. The fact that people already have the notion that ’no good thing could ever come from Nazareth’ does not mean that Jesus did not spring from there. You can break free today from negative family patterns by surrendering your life to Jesus, the story changer and history rewriter, and He will re- invent your life in the name of Jesus.

1. Negative patterns of my father’s house, break, release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Negative patterns of my mother’s house, break, release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Negative patterns of my lineage, my case is different, I break free from you, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Covenant of exemption from evil, work for me, in the name of Jesus.
5. I refuse to follow the evil pattern of my ancestors, in the name of Jesus.
6. I decree upon my life, I am unstoppable, in the name of Jesus.
7. By fire, by force, I leap over every wall of limitations, in the name of Jesus.
