TOPIC: Why People Suffer From Financial Bondage (1)
𝕄𝔼𝕄𝕆ℝ𝕐 𝕍𝔼ℝ𝕊𝔼:
Galatians 4:3 – “Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.”
𝕄𝕆𝕋𝕀𝕍𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔸𝕃 ℚ𝕌𝕆𝕋𝔼𝕊:
Financial freedom is the power to produce wealth.

ℙℝ𝕆ℙℍ𝔼𝕋𝕀ℂ 𝕎𝕆ℝ𝔻 𝔽𝕆ℝ 𝕋𝕆𝔻𝔸𝕐:
𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬, 𝗜 𝗦𝗘𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗕𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗭𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘, 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦.
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 4:16-21(NIV)
16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,
17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 3RD MAY 2024 MESSAGE:
Financial bondage and poverty are handiworks of the devil. He uses them to torment believers and to prevent them from experiencing all round fulfilment that they need to serve God as they ought to. However, without opening a doorway or providing the devil a ladder, he cannot enter a believer’s life to steal, to kill or to destroy. The open doorways or ladders are the reasons why people suffer from financial bondage. We shall examine some of them today.
The first reason people suffer from financial bondage is generational curse. When this is in place, the victim will find it extremely difficult to have financial breakthrough and prosperity, no matter how hard he works. The curse must be broken. In Genesis 9:25, we have an example of generational curse. It says, “And he said, cursed be Canaan, a servant of many servants shall he be into his brethren.” Unless the curse is broken, if a descendant of Canaan makes billions of naira, he or she will return to abject poverty. Therefore, this curse must be broken and the spirit behind it must be dislodged.
The second reason is wrong foundation. The Bible says, “If the foundation be destroyed what shall the righteous do?” Many people are in the cage of financial bondage today because they are victims of wrong business foundation, wrong academic foundation, wrong certificate, wrong marital foundation, and so on. They need to pray and take practical steps to reposition themselves to come out of financial bondage. The third reason people suffer from financial bondage is unwise investment.
Mature Christians look before they leap. They seek God’s counsel and direction before they take any important decision in life. Some people have made the mistake of investing in something that God did not tell them to do and have got their fingers burnt.
The fourth reason is stealing and sharp practices. God is holy and righteous. He will not bless the money or wealth you accumulate through illegitimate means. Such illicit wealth will give the enemy a foothold in your life and a reason to put you in financial bondage.
TODAY’S PRAYER POINTS
𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
1. I close the doorway that leads to financial bondage in my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. Ladders and hooks of bondage in my life, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.
3. Strong man behind financial bondage in my life, somersault and die, in the name of Jesus.
𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
1. Blood of Jesus, deliver me from generational curses, in the name of Jesus.
2. I come out of evil collective captivity, in the name of Jesus.
3. Witchcraft birds crying at night to make me wretched, catch fire and die, in the name of Jesus.
4. My blessings in marine banks and warehouses, locate me by fire, in the name of Jesus.
