PRAISE & WORSHIP
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 9:10-20
10 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”
13 But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.”
And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.” 14 For there were about five thousand men.
Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.” 15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17 So they all ate and were [a]filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
18 And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
19 So they answered and said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.”
20 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”
MFM Daily Devotional 23 January 2026 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:
God is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. He provides all our needs in all areas of life. When He does, you will not lack any good thing. Rather, you will experience abundance up to the point of overflowing. This is the power and ability of the awesome God whom we serve to car and provide for His children.
God knows how to feed His people when they are hungry, just like He attends to other areas of our needs. While in the wilderness, God provided manna for the Israelites. It was the food of angels. He commanded them not to store the food except on the day preceding the Sabbath day because God provides for His beloved children on a daily basis
(Exodus 16:14-26). There is always a fresh provision for today. His mercies and provisions are new every morning.
Today’s text shows another instance of feeding through divine means. The disciples of Jesus saw impossibility, considering the crowd and the little food available. It was supposed to be for one person or at the most, two. But Jesus saw possibility, because He has the power to make a little become much. He instructed the disciples to get the people seated. He lifted the food, looked to heaven, prayed and blessed the food. The disciples went ahead to share the food. Behold, the people were not only satisfied, but there was a leftover of twelve baskets.
This kind of miracle will happen in your life if you allow God to feed you. He is the God of divine provision. He knows what you need and how to provide it. When you are for Christ, you will never know lack (Psalm 34:10). No matter the state of your country’s economy, God will feed, clothe and supply you and your family with your needs. When God feeds you, you will never be hungry or thirsty. He gives you the bread of heaven and you drink from the fountain of life. Hunger and thirst will never find expression in your life, be it physically or spiritually. Most importantly, you receive life eternal when God feeds you.
