TOPIC: GOD’S COVENANT WITH NOAH

MEMORY VERSE: Gen. 9:11: “And I will establish My covenant with you neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there anymore be a flood to destroy the earth. ”

TODAY’S READING: Gen. 9:11-17.

MESSAGE: Recently, man has witnessed the occurrence of upheavals and natural disasters in virtually all continents of the world. Frightening volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis made people to ask if God was about to destroy the world by yet another flood. From our reading this morning, God said He would never again use the instrument of the flood to destroy the world.

The first flood which is called Lucifer’s flood was very devastating. It wiped off vegetation and submerged the whole earth. God had to embark on the tedious work of recreation by reconstructing His original creation. The second universal flood was Noah’s flood which lasted for one year and seventeen days. This time, God was merciful and gracious. He took time to preserve species of His creation. From the time of Adam, mankind became the focus of God’s programme and no longer the disappointing angels. He gave man dominion over all creatures. (Gen. 1:28).

God by His mercy entered into a covenant of faithfulness with Noah, his seeds and all living things. He would never again destroy the world by flood (Gen. 9:11). Whenever a rainbow appears in the cloud, it is a sign to remind God of His promise (v.18). No matter what the weather man tells you, believe that God shall never again bring flood upon the whole earth as it was in ages past.

Nevertheless, the earth shall not remain as it is now forever. The Bible tells us that God has a programme to renovate the earth by fire. This will happen after the battle of Armageddon. Apostle Peter tells us that God shall use fire to sanitize the present world. Then a New Heaven and a New Earth shall appear (2 Pet. 3:13). As Christians, let us look forward to that glorious day, the beginning of eternity.

PROPHETIC COMMAND (MORNING & NIGHT)
Worship! Praise!! Thanksgiving!!!

1. Thank You, Lord, for Your covenant of faithfulness with our fathers.
2. Blessed be Your Name Lord, for by the sacrifice on the cross I have made a covenant with You, in Jesus’ Name.
3. Power to be faithful to my covenant of redemption, salvation and eternal life, come upon me, in Jesus’ Name.
4. This is my year of well-being, O Lord, let the reign of terror end in my life, in Jesus’ name.

5. By the covenant of the rainbow, O Lord, decree that the powers that destroyed my ancestors shall not destroy me, in Jesus’ name.
6. O Lord, preserve my generation from sudden destruction, in Jesus’ name.
7. Power to overcome sin and be faithful to my God, come upon me, in Jesus’ name.

8. This year, O Lord, I key into Your covenant of faithfulness, in Jesus’ name.
9. O Lord, renovate my life now by the baptism of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.
10. O Lord, let the glory of the Rainbow overshadow my life, in Jesus’ name.
