MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 1ST MAY 2025 MESSAGE
Preparation is a vital tool for success in life. In every endeavour of life, we must take the initial step of planning, which starts with preparation. It is within this context that the picture of what is to be done, how to get it done, and the means of getting it done is put in place. Without adequate preparation and planning, a person is prepared to fail. The same applies to our heavenly race as Christians.
The Bible tells us that we are in this world but we are not of this world. This is a reminder that we have a final destination in eternity. The desire of God for His children is that we all end up in His bosom as one big family, to start a new life with Him. However, to get there, we need to prepare. Beloved, are you prepared?
Today’s text reveals to us the benefits of preparation. Jesus Himself taught this parable to His disciples. It is a fact that the ten virgins all had their lamps, perhaps were all dressed in the same way, with the same purpose – to meet the bridegroom. Again, they all slept off but woke up suddenly at midnight to trim their lamps. Here lies the difference: the five wise virgins were well prepared, but the five foolish ones had not enough oil in their lamps.
What a calamity! Too late! There was nowhere to buy the oil at such an hour of the night. They resorted to borrowing from their mates (verses 8-9), but they also couldn’t give them so that they would not both run short of oil. While they went to buy, the bridegroom arrived and the door was shut against them. A great lesson to learn! The unpreparedness of the five foolish virgins caused them irreparable damage. They missed the bridegroom they had been waiting for. They were not adequately prepared or perhaps, they underestimated His arrival. Why should anyone fall into such an error?
No excuse, beloved! You should keep the fire burning on your altar of prayer. Let the lamp of your life burn until the Master comes! Let your oil be enough and let it overflow. Remember, no one knows when the Bridegroom is coming, but certainly, He is coming and will come suddenly! Get prepared; remain prepared, so that you don’t miss Him!
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Lord Jesus, help me to be adequately prepared for Your coming, in the name of Jesus.
- I refuse to be distracted from my heavenly race, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, help me to continually look unto You, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- The voice of “I know ye not, Depart from me,” shall not be my portion, in the name of Jesus.
- Enemies of my salvation, I cast you away from me, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, keep me burning for You till the end, in the name of Jesus.
- I will not end up in hellfire, in the name of Jesus.
