TOPIC: The Triumph of the Cross
Today’s Scripture
Colossians 2:13–15, NIV – When you were dead in your sins…God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
Today’s Word
On a Friday over two thousand years ago, Jesus was crucified and put in a tomb. It looked as though it was over. All of hell was celebrating. But on the third day, on Resurrection Sunday, Jesus, our elder brother, rose up out of the tomb and said to all of us, “There’s nothing to fear. I have the keys to death and hell. I’ve defeated the enemy. I’ve cleared the path. I’ve gone ahead of you and taken care of anything that could harm you.” We don’t have to live in fear of anything from the past or in the future. We don’t have to be worried about what we’re up against now.
The prince of this world may come, but he has no power over us. He’s been defeated, dethroned, and brought to zero. Don’t let a defeated enemy keep you from becoming who you were created to be. Go and take what belongs to you. If you do this, you’re about to step into new levels of freedom, influence, and courage. Chains that have held you back are being broken right now.
Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Jesus’ resurrection and triumph over the grave and all the forces of sin and darkness. Thank You that there is no reason to fear the past, the future, or anything today. I believe and declare that the enemy was defeated and has no power over me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
