TODAY’S WORD
When God told the prophet Jonah to go preach to the city of Nineveh, he disobeyed, got on a boat, and went in the opposite direction. You would think God would say, “I would have gone before you if you went to Nineveh, but now you’re on your own.” But God doesn’t abandon us when we make mistakes. He had a big fish ready to swallow him and spare his life when the sailors threw him overboard to calm the storm. God had already gone before Jonah…in the wrong direction.
How many times has God in His mercy gone before us in the wrong direction. When we got ourselves in trouble, it was nobody’s fault but our own, but God was there to help get us out. You’re not on your own. You’re not doing life by yourself. The Creator of the universe is going before you. You can lie down at night in peace, knowing that God has you covered, even when you make mistakes. He’s going to be there to restore you, to help you get back on the best path.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You are always going before me and You’re always with me even when I mess up and go in the wrong direction. Thank You that You are so merciful to not leave me on my own. I believe that You are going to be there to keep me on the best path. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
