Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 7th February 2026 TOPIC: The Record Keeper
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he enabled her to conceive, but Rachel remained childless.
Genesis 29:31, NIV
TODAY’S WORD
Leah and her sister, Rachel, were both married to Jacob. Rachel was more beautiful and loved by Jacob, but he had been tricked into marrying Leah and never really loved her. Leah lived in a loveless marriage, feeling not wanted, the second choice, marginalized. I’m sure she was tempted to have low self-esteem, to not feel good about who she was. But God sees when you’re not being treated right. He sees when you’re being overlooked, pushed down, and discounted. Leah could have been bitter and depressed, but she just kept suffering in silence, doing the right thing with a good attitude, not complaining. Centuries later, when it came time for God to choose a family line to bring Jesus through, He didn’t choose one of the sons of Rachel, the favorite wife. He chose Leah’s son Judah. Jesus came through the tribe of Judah.
Even when people dishonor you, don’t get discouraged. God is keeping the record and knows how to honor you. He promises that greater honor, greater favor, greater influence is coming. Keep this phrase playing in your spirit: Greater is coming.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that there is a purpose for whatever hardship comes my way, and You only allow what You know will work for my good. Thank You that You are a God of restoration and that greater is coming—greater honor, joy, and opportunities. I believe that You will turn it to my advantage. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
