TODAY’S WORD
When you read the Scriptures, do you take the encouragement that’s there to give you hope and strength for living? If you listen, you’ll hear David saying, “That giant you’re facing looks big, but our God is bigger. You can defeat it in the name of the Lord Almighty.” Gideon is saying, “You don’t feel qualified. You’re intimidated and hiding. I’ve been there. God says you have what it takes. You’re a mighty hero.” Joseph will tell you, “My brothers sold me into slavery. I was falsely imprisoned and suffered for thirteen years before I stepped into my destiny. God is working all things for your good. Trust Him when you don’t understand.” Lazarus will tell you, “I was dead and wrapped in grave clothes. Jesus can bring back to life a dead dream, a dead marriage, what looks dead in your health, your finances, your mind. A resurrection is coming.” Start listening to the heroes of faith. Get to know God as they did. They’ve walked where we’re walking, and they’re still teaching us. Draw out the encouragement, strength, and hope the Scriptures impart.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You invited me into a relationship with You just as You did the heroes of faith. Thank You for the privilege of spending time with You and reading Your Word. Speak to my heart, teach me Your way, show me the path for my life, and encourage me with hope. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
