Today’s Word
The Ten Commandments had been inscribed on the stone tablets by the finger of God and entrusted into Moses’ care in a holy, majestic moment on Mount Sinai. It’s interesting that Moses was so angry because the Israelites were compromising and giving in to temptation that he broke the priceless, sacred gift.
Sometimes we can let what others are doing, how society is acting, the division, the dysfunction around us, to cause us to become angry and bitter and mishandle what God has given us. You can’t make everyone do what’s right. You can’t make the culture live according to God’s Word. Yes, as believers, we’re going to be bright lights to the world and do what we can, but don’t throw down what God has entrusted you with because of all the chaos around you.
Protect the gifts God has given you—your family, your integrity, your holiness, your peace. Don’t live frustrated and angry at people who are doing wrong. That’s the trick of the enemy to keep you in strife. Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for Your peace and joy that rule and guard my heart as I put my trust in You. Help me to see myself and other people as You see us, as imperfect humans. I refuse to allow my circumstances or what others say and do to get me upset. I declare I will walk in peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
