TODAY’S WORD
King David had defeated the attacks of many enemy armies, but the anxiety attack he describes in Psalm 55 was a different story. He didn’t think he could go on. The most powerful attacks are not physical but mental. That’s why the enemy works overtime in the mind through anxiety, fear, and worry. “You’re going to fail. You’ll never get well. You’ll always be alone. What are you going to do?” David was overwhelmed, shaking physically, believing the lies that nothing would improve. This anxiety attack could have ended David’s story.
But David did something that we all must do. When anxiety attacked, rather than accept it, he called on God to rescue him. When anxiety attacks, we call our friends, call our neighbor, call our parents. That’s all fine, but you need to make sure you call on the name of the Lord. Call on the God who created you. Call on the God who brings dead things back to life. Call on the God who is more powerful than any force that’s trying to stop you. He will rescue you.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You hear me when I call out to You for help. Thank You that You have unlimited resources, and everything I need will be released in my life because You are my source. I am calling on Your great name today and looking for Your goodness and believing for Your favor. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
