Today’s Scripture
Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold, but let God remold your minds from within. – Romans 12:2, PHILLIPS
Today’s Word
There will always be people who try to squeeze you into their mold and pressure you into being who they want you to be. They may be good people who mean well, but the problem is they didn’t breathe life into you, equip you, or empower you. God did. If you’re going to become who you were created to be, you need to be bold and run your race the way you want to run it.
You can’t be insecure, and you can’t worry about what everyone thinks. You can’t try to keep everyone happy. If you change with every criticism and try to win their favor, you’ll go through life letting people manipulate you and pressure you into their boxes.
You have to accept the fact that you can’t keep everyone happy or win over every critic. Even if you changed and did everything they asked, some would still find fault. You’re not really free until you’re free from trying to please everyone. You’re respectful and kind, but you’re not living to please people; you’re living to please God.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that You called me to be the person You want and made me to be. Thank You that You are renewing my mind so that I will know and be able to walk in Your will and ways. I declare that I will not be squeezed into other people’s molds. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
