TODAY’S WORD
In John 11, word came to Jesus that Lazarus was very sick, but Jesus was delayed for a few days, and Lazarus ended up dying. What’s interesting is that while everyone knew that Lazarus was clearly dead, Jesus had a different perspective. He said to His disciples, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. I’m going there to wake him up.” He was saying, “I can see things you can’t see. What you think is dead is not really dead.” After being dead for four days, Lazarus came out of the tomb alive and well at Jesus’ word.
Could it be what you think is dead really isn’t dead? Perhaps you think your marriage is never going to make it, or you’ll never get well, or you’ll never come into abundance. You’ve tried but it doesn’t look as though you’ll ever accomplish the dream. All the circumstances say that it’s dead, but God says, “No, it’s just asleep.” It may look permanent, but the truth is, it’s only temporary. Get ready. God is about to wake up what you thought was dead.
PRAYER FOR TODY
“Father, thank You that You are the keeper of my dreams, even the ones that have gone to sleep. Thank You that You have the final word over all things. I believe that You are working behind the scenes and bringing a resurrection to what I thought was dead. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
