SERVICE OBJECTIVE(S):

Understanding the things that hinder people from receiving or hearing from God
Divine direction is a life and destiny saver; human lives and destinies are hinged on Divine direction
Divine direction is a non-negotiable asset of human life and destiny

WHAT ARE THE HINDRANCES TO DIVINE DIRECTION?

1. The lack of value for Divine direction (Jer. 6:16)
   Many have no value for Divine direction so they leave life to chance
   What you give yourself is not as valuable as what God gives you
   What you achieve for yourself can never be as wonderful as what God achieves for you or with you
   What you do for yourself can be subject to earthly forces but what God does for you is superior to earthly forces
   Many are not receiving from God because they don’t discern the value
   The difference between being led by God and being led by self/sight is the difference between Abraham and Lot (Gen. 12:1-5; 13:10-11)
   Not everything that looks good for the moment has a future (Gen. 13:10-11)
   Many look at the container of things and not at the content; it is only God that knows the content of all things
   The difference between being led by God and being led by self/sight is the difference
   between Jacob and Esau
   The difference between being led by God and being led by self/sight is like the difference between light and darkness or day and night

2. Lack of true spirituality (Prov. 20:27; 1 Cor. 2:9-14; Ezek. 37:1; Rev. 1:10)
   There is a connection between your spirituality and your sensitivity, receptivity and connection to Heaven
   Your spirit must be lighted if you must make discoveries from the Spirit of God
   A person must be spiritually awake and alert to pick spiritual signals
   When spiritual exercises increase, spiritual receptivity multiplies.
   In the realm of the spirit, one can be so spiritually bankrupt that they cannot pick any spiritual signals
   Invest in your spirit man by prayer, studying of the Word, and fasting

3. Over-busyness in life (Ps. 46:10; Dan. 9:2-3; Mark 1:35)
   So many people have lives/minds running in too many directions
   There is knowledge in stillness/calmness (Ps. 46:10)
   There is a time to shut down all other activities and concentrate only on God
   Sleep with expectation, wake with revelation and trust the Lord with all desperation and before you know it, your steps will be Divinely guided.
   For example, you can take annual leave and use the time to upgrade your mentality by taking short courses; make Kingdom deposits by evangelism and soul winning etc.

4. Impatience with God (Ps. 46:10; Isa. 28:16)
   When you believe, you don’t make haste (Isa. 28:16)
   Some people believe that God is too slow – it has made many to find spouses for themselves and has also turned many ministers into native doctors
   ‘God is too slow’ made Abraham to arrange an alternative for himself; that alternative is still a challenge till today
   ‘God is too slow’ made Saul to offer a sacrifice he was not meant to offer instead of waiting for Samuel (1 Sam. 13:10)
   Waiting on God is not equal to wastage of life
   Waiting on God is not wastage of time
   Waiting on God is the salvaging of life and destiny
   Don’t move because of mass movement; it may affect your destiny negatively
   Don’t ever become impatient because of other people’s results or experiences
   Waiting on God will give you a speed that human effort can never give
   Moving with God will give you nothing to lose; if you wait on God and His time, you would have lost nothing and the devil would have gained nothing

5. Existence in assumption and tradition (1 Chron. 14:14-15; John 3:8)
   ‘This is how it has always been done’ = tradition
   For every new situation there may be a new revelation so if you are married to tradition you deliver frustration
   God is too dynamic for us to categorize Him, classify Him or cage His operations
   Every child of God should be as flexible as the wind (John 3:8)

PRAYER POINTS

Father, thank You for Your Word to us tonight. Thank You Lord for direction tonight.To You be all the glory Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Father, I position myself to be directed; I am available to be led, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Father, reveal Yourself to me; manifest Yourself in me, to me, and through me in my generation today, in Jesus’ Name.

COMMUNION FOCUS (PROVERBS 23:18):

• Our Master Jesus was never confused for direction;
  grace to know and see is released upon you!
• That expectation in your hand has become your testimony!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

• You and your children shall fulfil your days in Jesus’ Name!
• Grace for spiritual sensitivity is coming upon you now!
• Every gang up of evil tormenting your life is set on fire!
• Whatever your father or mother have that is negative that the devil is trying to pass to you is cancelled!
• Every arrow of hell, disease or disaster, you are returning back to sender!
• Any agent of the devil planted around your life to destroy your life and destiny, in this season they are exposed and arrested!
