Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The Lord Jesus made a bold declaration based on the revelation spoken by Peter the apostle that “Jesus is the Messiah, the son of the living God” (Matthew 16:18). He said, “Upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” That should embolden you as a Christian. The Church is not the four walls of a physical building—it’s you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit, the very headquarters of the Godhead.
In this verse, “gates” speak of prisons, authorities, powers, and limitations that have positioned themselves against you with the sole purpose of stopping your advancement. Yet, what Jesus spoke at that time is still valid today. No authority and powers from the evil kingdom will halt your progress. It may seem that you’re not achieving anything, but wait—before the end of this year, your time of manifestation shall be evident for all to see.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
My life is wrapped in Christ. I carry the One who holds all things in His hands. I cannot fail. My life is secure in Christ, and I am a winner. No gates of Hell will stop my progress, in the mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
