TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. – 1 Corinthians 15:33
GoodNews Daily Devotional 8th March 2022 MESSAGE
Good manners are not automatic. If you are a parent or you’ve been around children, you will understand that they need to be taught how to behave. Some need extra time and training but eventually they get it. When you see a child with good manners you instantly know that they had someone in their life to guide them in the right direction.
As a Christian, you have the Word of God and Holy Spirit to help you understand the character of Jesus. When you become mature in the word, you realize that you don’t listen to or do the things that you used to.
The devil will always try to get you back in his camp. The scripture tells us to not be deceived which means that it is possible for you to be deceived. You must surround yourself with Christians that are going where you are. Let them call you a holy roller, or too deep because you decided not to stay in the environment that Jesus removed you from. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus, and you have the mind of God.
Being a Christian and trying to hold on to your old life will only delay your full purpose or progress. You have to separate yourself from everything that does not agree with Jesus. Whether it is music, movies or a relative, you must separate yourself. 2 Corinthians 6:17 says “Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate……”.
Evil communications are bad seeds. Those bad seeds are designed to stop the plan of God for your life. Desist from those calls, visits to ungodly places, those social media sites etc. that corrupt the character of Christ in you.
Ask Holy Spirit to help you identify those things that come to hinder your purpose. He is on your side. You will see the traps before they even manifest. You can’t be deceived because Christ is in you the Hope of Glory. Thank God for your new circle of friends, music and movies that will edify your life. Cheer up, the Word works!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
Today and forever, I will never be deceived. I have the character of Christ. Everything I listen to will speak to my purpose. I am Corruption Proof because of Holy Spirit! Thank You Lord for Your Grace!
