GoodNews Daily Devotional 30 July 2022 MESSAGE
When the children of Israel moved from Egypt to the promised land crossing the red sea, our verse today said they marched on dry ground. Why is there an emphasis on the “dry ground”? God Himself didn’t want the children of Israel to carry the mud of Egypt into the promised land.
He made it a point that every portion of mud from the land of slavery remained there. He didn’t want anything of the past to be carried into the new era of milk and honey. If you pay more attention to your “background” you will always find your “back on the ground”. Your past has nothing much to offer but the future. Invest more in your future than your past. Starve your past and feed your future with positivity.
You might have failed one time in the past, but God is not concerned about that, He is more concerned about your glorious ending. Leave all the mud of unforgiveness, hatred and anger in the past and move on. Don’t let any baggage of the past weigh you down. You have a better and brighter future to pursue. No negative thoughts are allowed to live rent-free in you. If there are people who hate you or situations which hate you, just let the past go with the past. It’s a brand-new day and greater things are yet to come in the name of Jesus.
My future is brighter, and I march into it with all joy. I forgive myself and let go of those who wronged me. I chose to live a burden-free life. I am a new creature in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah!
