TOPIC: The Last Dispensation
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 3:1 (KJV) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
GoodNews Daily Devotional 15th September 2022 MESSAGE
By implication, to examine this text, we will take a careful look at the pretext so that we understand the context of the text. ‘This know also…. suggests that some things have been said already and this is an addition to the previous statement. We live in the last dispensation where we witness on daily basis violence escalated at a height never seen before in past civilizations. Every news outlet, social media platform and mainstream media is replete with headlines about violence.
The tragedy sometimes is that we are eyewitnesses to these things as they are beamed live from whatever location in the world. Children are exposed to undiluted acts of violence which show the moral decadence of a society at its lowest ebb. Surprisingly though, most of these despicable things are sanctioned by people we entrust with public offices. The syllabus in schools is desperately being revised to accommodate moral decay as if it’s something normal.
These are indeed perilous and dangerous times and surely signal the ‘last days’. The world out there is desperately trying to muffle and silence every moral voice that speaks of God’s standard. These perilous times are here already, you need not be told as you see these things happening before your very eyes in broad daylight. Life as we know it will suddenly come to an end at any moment, this is not to scare you but rather to prepare you. This is your allotted time to be bold and preach the Good News of Christ to every creature!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I know the power to overcome sin and temptation is residence in me. I cannot conform to the world’s standard. My life will portray the Christ in me wherever I go. I cannot be muted; my voice will make a difference in a chaotic world! Amen!
