BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY: “In that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.” – John 16:26
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges God has given His children.
In John 16:26, Jesus tells His disciples that they will ask the Father in His name. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus opened the way for believers to come directly to the Father with confidence. We no longer stand at a distance, wondering if God will hear us. Because we belong to Christ, we have the privilege of bringing every need, every burden, and every thanksgiving into our Father’s presence.
Praying in Jesus’ name is more than ending our prayers with certain words.
It means coming to God on the basis of Christ’s finished work.
It means praying according to His will and trusting in His authority.
It is an expression of faith that Jesus is our Savior and the One through whom we have access to the Father.
God delights in hearing the prayers of His children.
He listens when we cry out in weakness.
He comforts us in sorrow.
He gives wisdom when we are confused.
He provides strength when we are weary.
Though His answers may not always come in the way or at the time we expect, His love and faithfulness never fail.
Jesus assures us that we are welcomed into the Father’s presence because of our relationship with Him. We do not need to live in fear or uncertainty. We can approach God with confidence, knowing that He cares deeply for us and invites us to cast all our cares upon Him.
Today, draw near to your Heavenly Father with a heart full of faith. Bring your joys, your struggles, your questions, and your hopes before Him. Trust that He hears every sincere prayer and will respond according to His perfect wisdom and unfailing love.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful privilege of coming into Your presence through Jesus Christ. Thank You that because of His sacrifice, I can approach You with confidence, knowing that You hear my prayers.
Lord, teach me to pray with faith and to trust Your perfect will in every situation. Help me to seek Your kingdom first and to desire what pleases You above all else.
When I feel anxious, remind me that I can bring every burden to You. When I am uncertain, give me wisdom. When I am weak, fill me with Your strength and peace.
Thank You for Your unfailing love, Your faithful care, and Your promise to never leave me. May my prayer life grow deeper each day as I draw closer to You and learn to depend on You completely.
