BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY: “ “Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.” – 1 Timothy 4:14–15
God has entrusted every believer with gifts and opportunities to serve His kingdom.
In 1 Timothy 4:14–15, the Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy not to neglect the spiritual gift God had given him. Instead, he urged him to be diligent, devoted, and fully committed so that his spiritual growth would be evident to everyone.
This instruction is just as relevant today.
God’s gifts are not meant to remain dormant. They are to be developed through prayer, faithful service, consistent learning, and complete dependence on the Holy Spirit.
Every gift, whether public or unseen, matters to God.
Some are called to preach.
Some are called to teach.
Some serve quietly behind the scenes.
Others encourage, give generously, show mercy, or lead with wisdom.
Whatever your calling may be, God desires that you use it faithfully for His glory.
Paul also says, “Give yourself wholly to them.”
Following Christ is not a part-time commitment. God desires wholehearted devotion. As we surrender ourselves completely to Him, He shapes our character, strengthens our gifts, and uses us to bless others.
Spiritual growth is a lifelong journey.
We may not become mature overnight, but through daily obedience and faithfulness, God continues His work in us. As we remain committed to Him, others will see the evidence of His transforming grace in our lives.
Today, ask the Lord to stir up every gift He has placed within you. Refuse to neglect the calling He has given you. Instead, pursue Him with diligence, humility, and perseverance.
For when we faithfully use what God has entrusted to us, He is glorified, His people are strengthened, and His kingdom advances.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gifts, talents, and opportunities You have graciously entrusted to me. Thank You for calling me to serve You according to Your purpose.
Lord, forgive me for the times I have neglected what You have placed in my hands. Renew my passion to grow in faith, develop my gifts, and serve You with excellence and humility.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to be diligent in every assignment You have given me. Teach me to depend on Your strength rather than my own abilities.
May my life continually reflect spiritual growth, faithfulness, and a deep love for You. Use me to encourage others, build Your Church, and bring glory to Your name.
Thank You for Your grace that equips me and Your presence that empowers me every step of the way.
