In a world filled with many voices, beliefs, and distractions, it can be difficult to know what is true. People search for meaning, purpose, and direction in different places, often ending up confused or empty.
But 1 John 5:20 gives us a clear and comforting truth: Jesus has come to give us understanding so that we can know the true God.
This is not just about knowledge—it is about relationship.
Through Jesus, we are invited into fellowship with God. That means we are not distant from Him. We are not trying to figure Him out on our own. We are brought close, connected, and able to walk with Him daily.
Knowing God changes everything.
It brings clarity where there was confusion.
It brings peace where there was uncertainty.
It brings life where there was emptiness.
And this life is not temporary—it is eternal.
The verse reminds us that Jesus Himself is the true God and eternal life. When we remain in Him, we are rooted in truth. We are not easily shaken by false ideas or distractions because our foundation is secure.
Sometimes, we may drift—losing focus, becoming distracted, or relying on our own understanding. But God continually calls us back into fellowship with Him.
He wants us to know Him deeply, to walk with Him closely, and to live in the fullness of the life He has given us.
So today, take a moment to reflect: are you living in that fellowship? Are you walking closely with the One who is truth and life?
God is near. His truth is available. And through Jesus, you can know Him personally.
Let’s Pray:
Lord God, thank You for revealing Yourself to me through Jesus Christ. Thank You for giving me understanding so that I can know You, the true God.
Help me to grow deeper in my relationship with You. Draw me closer into fellowship with You each day. Let my life be rooted in Your truth and guided by Your presence.
Lord, remove every distraction and every false belief that tries to pull me away from You. Help me to remain steady, knowing that You are the source of eternal life.
Thank You for the gift of knowing You and for the peace and purpose that come with it.
