BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith…” – Hebrews 12:1–2 (NIV)
The Christian life is described as a race—not a short sprint, but a long journey that requires endurance, focus, and faith.
Every believer has a race marked out by God. Your journey is unique, your assignment is purposeful, and your path is known by Him. But to run well, we must be willing to let go of the things that slow us down.
Hebrews 12:1 tells us to “throw off everything that hinders.”
Sometimes the greatest obstacles are not always obvious sins. They can be distractions, fears, unhealthy habits, bitterness, or anything that pulls our attention away from God’s purpose.
The passage also warns about sin that easily entangles us. Sin traps, delays, and weakens spiritual progress. But God calls us to freedom so we can move forward with strength and clarity.
And how do we endure this race?
By “fixing our eyes on Jesus.”
When your focus remains on people, circumstances, or challenges, discouragement can quickly arise. But when your eyes stay on Jesus, you find strength to continue. He is the pioneer and perfecter of faith—the One who began the work in you and will help you finish well.
Jesus Himself endured suffering, rejection, and the cross because of the joy set before Him. His endurance reminds us that difficult seasons are not the end of the story.
So today, keep running.
Do not allow weariness to stop you. Lay aside every burden that hinders your growth. Keep your eyes on Christ and trust Him for strength each day.
Because the race God has given you is worth finishing faithfully.
Let’s Pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me into this journey of faith. Help me to run the race You have set before me with endurance and perseverance.
Show me the things that are hindering my spiritual growth, and give me the courage to let them go. Help me to turn away from every sin and distraction that pulls me away from You.
Lord, fix my eyes firmly on You. When I feel tired or discouraged, strengthen my heart and remind me that You are with me every step of the way.
Teach me to trust You completely and to keep moving forward in faith until I finish the race faithfully.
Thank You for being my example, my strength, and my hope.
