BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY: “Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal covenant—equip you with every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Many times we desire to live a life that pleases God, yet we may feel unsure if we truly have what it takes. We see the challenges ahead, the responsibilities placed before us, and sometimes we question whether we are capable of fulfilling what God has called us to do.
But Hebrews 13:20–21 reminds us of a powerful truth: God Himself equips us.
The same God who raised Jesus from the dead—the God of peace and power—is actively working in the lives of His people. He does not call us into His will and then leave us to struggle on our own. Instead, He provides everything necessary for us to live according to His purpose.
This means that every act of obedience, every step of faith, and every good work we are called to do is supported by God’s grace and strength. He works within us, shaping our hearts and giving us the ability to do what pleases Him.
Sometimes we focus so much on our limitations that we forget God’s limitless power. But when we trust Him, we discover that He is continually forming us, guiding us, and equipping us for the journey ahead.
Jesus is described here as the “great Shepherd.” A shepherd cares for, leads, and protects his flock. In the same way, Christ leads us faithfully, ensuring that we have what we need as we follow Him.
Our role is not to rely on our own strength but to remain connected to Him. As we do, God’s work within us becomes visible through our lives, and His glory is revealed in all we do.
So today, take comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your calling. God is already at work within you, equipping you to do His will.
Let’s Pray
Lord God, thank You for being the God of peace and power. Thank You for raising Jesus from the dead and for giving us the hope of life through Him.
I ask that You equip me with everything I need to do Your will. Strengthen my heart, guide my steps, and help me to live in a way that is pleasing to You.
Lord, work within me by Your Spirit. Shape my thoughts, my actions, and my desires so that my life reflects Your purpose and Your glory.
Thank You for being my Shepherd, leading and caring for me every step of the way. I trust You to equip me for all that You have called me to do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
