SCRIPTURE: 1 Chronicles 23:3 – Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and above; and the number of individual males was thirty-eight thousand. NKJV
“You talk too much about serving, Pastor David.”
Perhaps you’ve thought something like this before. Well yes, I do talk about serving when it comes up in scripture. That’s the beauty of teaching verse by verse. I don’t get to pick my pet topics. I teach what appears in the scripture as we come to it. Even though serving comes up a lot in scripture, I also teach on many varied topics as they come up. So… if serving is a theme that keeps getting stuck in your craw, then friend, in love, perhaps the Holy Spirit is trying to tell you something.
God has called you to serve and has set you apart for special use. He has uniquely gifted you with talents and gifts to serve and be a blessing to others.
Ephesians 4:11-12 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” NKJV
Ministry is the responsibility of God’s people. We get the incredible opportunity to serve God together in this place and across the world. The choice is yours. Fence-sitter or world-changer… Which will you choose?
Life Lesson:
We have the incredible opportunity to serve God together.
Dear Father,
Thank You for loving me. Thank You that, although You know my past mistakes, You would still ask me to help serve in Your kingdom. Lord, I don’t want to be a spectator. Help me to step outside of myself and be a world-changer. I want to help build the kingdom of God and live a life poured out in service to You. Thank You for calling me Your redeemed, Your chosen generation. I choose to live in the fullness of the life You have for me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
Pastor David McGee
