Daily Devotional for Women – August 10, 2026 Monday Message
TOPIC: When God Is Teaching You to Let Go
Today’s Bible Verse
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Devotional Message
There are moments when the greatest act of faith is not doing more, but surrendering what you cannot control.
As women, we often carry many things at once—responsibilities, relationships, family concerns, future plans, unanswered questions, and the needs of people we love. Sometimes we become so accustomed to carrying everything that we forget that God never asked us to carry what belongs in His hands.
Being still before God does not mean giving up. It means releasing your need to control the outcome and trusting the One who already knows the beginning, the middle, and the end.
Martha learned this lesson when Jesus visited her home. While she was overwhelmed with many preparations, her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to Him. Martha was busy serving, but Jesus reminded her that she was worried and troubled about many things, while Mary had chosen what was truly important (Luke 10:41–42).
There is nothing wrong with being responsible, diligent, or hardworking. But even good responsibilities can become heavy when we try to manage everything without depending on God.
Perhaps today God is inviting you to put something down.
Maybe it is the need to have everything figured out. Maybe it is an old disappointment, a relationship you cannot fix, a decision you cannot control, or anxiety about what tomorrow may bring.
You can give it to Him.
God is not asking you to understand everything before you trust Him. He is asking you to know Him—to recognize that He remains God even when life feels uncertain.
When you become still before Him, you create room for His peace to quiet your heart. You begin to see that surrender is not weakness. It is an expression of deep confidence in God’s wisdom and love.
Today, breathe deeply and release what you were never meant to control. God is still working, even in the places where you cannot see His hand.
Today’s Reflection
What are you trying to control that God is asking you to surrender?
Take a few quiet moments today and name that concern before God. Instead of asking Him to give you control, ask Him to give you trust, wisdom, and peace as you place it completely in His hands.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before You with everything that has been weighing on my heart. I confess that sometimes I try to control situations because I am afraid of what will happen if I let go. Today, I choose to trust You.
Teach me to be still in Your presence and remember that You are God. Help me release every worry, every unanswered question, every relationship, every plan, and every situation that I have been trying to manage in my own strength.
Give me the grace to know the difference between what I should faithfully do and what I must simply place in Your hands. When I am tempted to worry, remind me of Your faithfulness. When I cannot see the way forward, help me trust the One who already knows the way.
Calm my heart, renew my strength, and fill me with a peace that does not depend on circumstances. Help me walk through this day with quiet confidence, knowing that You are with me and that nothing concerning my life is outside Your care.
I surrender my plans to You. I surrender my fears to You. I surrender my future to You.
Be glorified in my life, and teach me to rest in Your unfailing love.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
