If you like exciting dramas, today’s story is for you! Saul, the zealous persecutor of Christians, suffers a brutal knockdown, ending up bewildered and without sight. Ananias companions him and encourages him toward the bold new plans Jesus has for Saul’s life. There’s no mistaking Jesus’ message. Ananias poses the piercing question, “Now, why delay?”
Jesus invites you to bold new plans every day when he asks you to reach out to a suffering friend with anxiety, to forgive your son for his harsh remarks or to stop getting mired down by political differences with your friend.
Has the Holy Spirit been nudging you with insights, possibilities and creative ideas? Do you know deep down that it’s time to be cleansed of your perennial sins? Do you wish to be different, made new, to begin again, yet you stay tethered to your old ways, analyzing every idea into paralysis? Why delay the vibrant fullness of life Jesus offers you?
