Daily Fountain Devotional For Saturday, MESSAGE
Moses believed that he alone could settle all disputes of the Israelites. He threw his full weight into doing that, sitting from morning till evening. He spent all day and kept the people all day leaving no time for himself. That must have been stressful. Moses had a good, observant and caring father-in-law, Jethro, who after observing him, proffered a godly solution. He gave Moses room to obey or not. Moses took his advice wholeheartedly and also implemented it. The result was awesome. This is what is called division of labour in modern parlance.
You cannot do it all alone, all the time. No one human is a compendium of knowledge and wisdom. Our gifts are for the common good (1 Cor. 12:7), but the truth remains that each of us is just an integral part of the whole body (1 Cor. 12:12) and we all should function for the benefit of the body of Christ. Do your part but also remember to give them a chance to showcase their abilities by delegating duties whenever the need arises. This will allow the leader time for rest and more will definitely be achieved in the end.
PRAYER: Dear Father, provide a Jethro for me to enable me finish strong and well, to your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
