The Daily Fountain Devotional 8 May 2020 for Anglican Communion
Topic: Life from the Dead
Scripture: Ezekiel 37:1-10
The Daily Fountain Devotional 8 May 2020 Message:
The promise of spiritual restoration in Ezekiel 36,is what God is fulfilling in our text today where we read of dry bones being called back to life (vs. 4-5). That the bones were many and very dry speak of total absence of spirituality. Verses 7 – 8 speak of restoration of physical Israel as evidenced in “there was no breath in them” (v.8). But this utterly hopeless and apparently irredeemable situation takes a new turn in verses 9 & 10, when Israel is restored spiritually.
Presently, it is very much believed that the nation Israel is not yet restored spiritually. Her spiritual restoration, it is believed, will take place at Christ’s Second Coming. God is still working His purpose out in our lives. He is still raising to life, people who are spiritually dead, both Jews and non-Jews. The miracle of transformation is still on for as many as will come to Him. Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Meditate: “… if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you have heard …” (Colossians 1:23)
Prayer Point
Eternal God, work Your purpose out until it is filled with your Glory.
