Daily Fountain Devotional 1st November 2025 TOPIC: Fruitful Christianity
SCRIPTURE: 2 Peter 1:1-11(NKJV)
1:1. Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
1:2. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
1:3. as His divine power has given to us all things that [pertain] to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
1:4. by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption [that is] in the world through lust.
1:5. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
1:6. to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
1:7. to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
1:8. For if these things are yours and abound, [you will be] neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:9. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
1:10. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
1:11. for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 1st November 2025 STUDY:
On All Saints’ Day, we reflect on the lives of the canonized saints. These are holy persons believed to have special grace in character and ministry. In our church, the Apostles and those who believed the Lord when He was in flesh on earth are especially celebrated as Saints. These saints serve as examples for us who are still in the race. We must end in heaven as Saints triumphant.
From our text, we have been exposed to basic principles that can help us to end well as Saints militant. Our salvation is an entry point in our Christian life (1 Peter 2:2), therefore, we are required to go on to maturity (Heb. 6:1).
Our consecration should be a daily process. Think of things that can help you to experience daily growth in your faith. Engage in systematic study of God’s word. Be prayerful and show commitment to Church activities. Essentially, the basic faith actions listed in the text today, which include learning to know God better, developing perseverance, doing God’s will, loving others (vv.5-7), must be a continual part of our Christian life, and will add value to our faith daily, and growth in character and practice of moral discipline (James 2:14-17).
We do not finish one of these faith actions and start on the next; we work on all at once. Our salvation does not depend on good works but it results in good works.
PRAYER: Help me Lord to show devotion to the things that will help me to grow in my faith, Amen!
