Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 18th October 2025 STUDY:
Paul died for his faith during one of the persecutions that broke out in Rome under Emperor Nero. Our passage is very clear that even before his death, Paul was aware that the time was drawing to a close. Yet, he was not shaken by fear as he faced his coming end; he looked forward to his end with such a quiet confidence and glowing anticipation of his heavenly destination.
How could he have been so confident and assured? How can you be equally assured and confident of the prospect of eternity and your final destination? Well Paul gives the answers to the questions above in what he said to young Timothy.
(i) Do not be confused or distracted by the attractions of this world or by the situations you face as a Christian.
(ii) Endure every hardship that comes to you as a result of your faith in Christ. Every genuine faith in Christ must be tested by the fire of troubles
(iii) Be a faithful evangelist and a witness to the gospel of Christ wherever you find yourself.
(iv) Be a faithful and trustworthy minister of Christ in your calling and vocation.
(v) Christianity is warfare against sin and Satan, therefore, fight your good fight.
As a Christian, when you practice and maintain your faith in this way, you can be confident that your everlasting crown will certainly await you in heaven.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to stay faithful in my calling, enduring every trial with courage and love.
May I finish my race with joy and receive the crown You have prepared for all who love You.
MEDITATION: God says “If you make your home in love, you live in Me and I live in you. 1 John 4:16”
