Outline: Nebuchadnezzar initially captured Jerusalem and exiled key people from there to Babylon. He then installed Zedekiah as his vassal (or subordinate) king. Zedekiah and the remnant rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar and the result was the report we have in v.21 (see 2 Kings 24:20‐25:10). But it would appear the people still refused to learn the right lessons.
It is true that the land was given to them as an inheritance being Abraham’s descendants, but they failed to keep the condition of retention (vs.25‐26). Their failure to repent and change their ways brought upon them more disasters (vs.27‐28).
The punishment continued until they turn back from their evil ways to worship the Lord. Like the people of Israel, are we claiming God’s promises but failing to meet His conditions for enjoying these blessings?
God reserves punishment for sinners and not protection. If we want to lay claim to God’s grace and mercy, then we must be free from sin. We should be ready to serve God with all seriousness and to always obey His word (vs.31‐32).

THANK GOD FOR:
› Constantly showing and teaching us His will. › The grace of God that enables us to follow God and do His will at all times.
PRAY FOR:
• Deliberate decision among SU members and other Christians to remain slaves of Christ who will continue to do His will. • Grace to endure hardship especially now that the situation around us is tough and confusing. • Our works in SU that it will remain the works of God and not be polluted by men‘s wisdom.
PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Walking in the flesh even while we say we are working the work of God. ∷ Failing to do all that God has appointed us to do in SU while working with children, youths and families.
