Think about the plights of other people. You have heard that you should be nice to all people because everyone is fighting a battle that you don’t know about? This verse asks that you consider what others are going through. Carry their burdens as your own, because then you will help them as if you were helping yourself.
Today’s Prayer Point
Forgive me, merciful Lord, because I have often done things for my own benefit rather than thinking of others. Sometimes I am so selfish that I refuse to help those that need it most because I feel it would take too much of my own time. You have done what you can to help us, we need it most, although you certainly did not have to. Help me to be more like you, O Lord, and have everything I do be acceptable in thy sight. Amen.
