On the Way to Canaan (8)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 33-34
TEXT: “How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.” Numbers 23 :8 – 9.
Our anchor text is a testimony from Balaam about Israel. He was hired to curse Israel but he could not because they were a people separated from the world unto God. Balaam went further to state in verse 21; “He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.”
If you will arrive your place of fulfillment in life not being cursed, afflicted with sicknesses and diseases or suffer losses, which are products of sin, you must understand the place of separation.
can not be among them and not end up like them. Scripture commands,
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” 2 Cor. 6 :17.
Sin cuts one from God and opens one to affliction. That is why wherever sin is mentioned in scripture sickness and diseases follows. So also, when sin is forgiven, sicknesses and diseases are healed. Psa. 103 :3.
In Psalms 119 :67; the Psalmist declared, “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.” Balaam could not penetrate the Israelites because the vehicle of sin with which to access them was not available. No wonder scripture says, “Righteousness exalted a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” As you journey in life righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.” Prov. 12 :28.
No matter the form of death, it cannot come near you because it is forbidden in the pathway of righteousness. Only the more abundant life of Christ reigns there.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive fresh grace for separation, in Jesus name..
