Topic: Deliver Me

Through the Bible…
Morning: Psalm 28, 29, 30
Evening: Acts 21:1-14
Proverb: Proverbs 19

Psalm 7:1
O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,
NKJV

Dear Friend,

King Saul was bearing down on David. Although David had achieved great victories on Saul’s behalf, Saul relentlessly pursued David in a mad rampage. David utters this prayer unto God entrusting God to allow his enemies to overturn him if he is wrong or that his enemies be overturned in justice.

Ps 7:14-16
14 Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. 15 He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. 16 His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
NKJV

Jesus came into our world and delivered us ultimately from the sting of our sinful circumstance and eternal death. Yet, as we walk after Him in this life we still wage a war in the struggle for the souls of those around us, and for the divided loyalties between the flesh and the Spirit in our own hearts. We also wrestle with the principalities and powers that eagerly seek to intimidate us so we don’t speak about our Savior or His goodness to us. This struggle is true also in our own families, work places, schools, and churches. As we stand up and stand out in our faith, the attacks will come to us. Friend, may I encourage you? Don’t be easily shaken. The enemies of the faith will eventually sink their own ship. Let us continue to celebrate, remember, give praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for all the good He has done for us! Not because we will always feel like it, but because it is the sweetest and most healthy medicine for our heart and mind to always prepare ourselves to joyfully seek and praise Him, especially for the victories He has already accomplished for us!

Ps 7:17
I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. NKJV

Life Lesson:
We should take time to remember and celebrate the victories.

Lord,
I thank You that You do hear me when I call. Lord, I am so blessed in so many different ways. Please help me to count, remember, and thank you always for all the victories and joys that I have in You. Please help me to not be so easily shaken when the enemy pursues me, intimidates me, or attacks me. Help me remember You and celebrate the salvation You have purchased for me with Your precious blood and to count all the good You have shown to me as joy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
