Topic: Do You Run When No One Is Pursuing You?
Opening Prayer: Lord, I pray that you lead me into your truth as I meditate on your word in Jesus name.
Scripture: Proverbs 28:1-14

• Is there any warning for me to heed?
A life of corruption and crime makes you edgy, always ready to bolt away at the slightest suspicion that the authorities are after you. The righteous are however, sure footed and bold. The corrupt has no peace of mind. Corruption makes you suspect everyone as a potential sell-out and thereby destroys relationships. Such people do not usually make good company. Their company will corrupt good morals.
How does this affect family relationships and one’s Christian standing? Those who have made God their enemy think that the whole creation is at war with them. They therefore cannot have true joy. They have neither confidence nor courage but a fearful expectation of judgment. Sin turns men into cowards. National sins bring national disorders and disturbance to the land. Wicked people will speak well of one another, and so strengthen each other’s hands in their wicked ways. How we need to pray that righteousness will prevail in our land. If you are in business, do you follow godly principles (v.8)? When we do wrong our prayers are hindered (v.9).
Notice also the lot of those who mislead others (v.10; Matthew 18:6-7)? When you become rich guard against false self-esteem which disappears when your enterprise hits bad times. However, the poor person of integrity will be composed and keeps trusting the Lord (v.11).

• Embolden me, dear Lord, to be a champion of your cause in my community. • Pray for those who also communicate the gospel some other ways – TV program, Radio Broadcasting, Drama/Film Productions, and Internet Publishing.
