Fear of God (2)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Eccl. 7-9

TEXT: And Pharaoh said,Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go. Exodus 5 :2.

Pharaoh called himself God that is why he asked who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice? He said,I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go. God started showing His wonders through Moses and Pharaoh brought his magicians to do the same miracles Moses were performing until he got to a level the magicians could not do what Moses was doing. “ Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, this is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them;as the Lord had said. ” Exodus 8 :19. Pharaoh lost everything because he did not fear God. “And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians:and the people feared the lord,and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses”. Exodus 14 :31.

King of Assyria boosted without the fear of God. Isaiah 36 :20; “Who are they among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?”

He boosted in his military power. But God replied in Isaiah 37 :7; through his prophet Isaiah saying,“Behold I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land”,and it came to pass as the man of God said. Herod declared himself God and he was eaten up by worms alive, Nebuchadnezzar turned to animal and lived in the bush for seven years and when he returned,he feared God.

Child of God,in Matthew 10 :28; Jesus said “And fear not them which kill the body,but are not able to kill the soul:but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” The fear of God,is indeed the beginning of wisdom.

If you don’t fear God, nothing will fear you..

PRAYER: My father! My father! As I begin to pray, put your fear in my heart.
