Whose Report Do You Believe?

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 1-3
TEXT: And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. – Numbers 13 :32.
Child of God, whose report do you believe? Is it the report of God, or man? Are you holding on to that situation report, what your body is telling you, or what the doctors said? God sent out twelve (12) men to spy the land, ten (10) men came with the above report that the land eateth up its inhabitants, only two (2) men came with a different report, but the congregation chose to discard the report of the two (2) men, Joshua and Caleb. The two spies gave a positive report of the land and their ability to possess it, which was an opposite report of the ten (10) spies gave. (Numbers 14 :7-12).
Yet the congregation chose to believe the negative report because they did not trust God enough to bring them to the promise land which He had promised earlier and because of this, God almost destroyed the whole assembly if not for Moses’ intercession. Still God swore in Numbers 14 :23, “Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it.” Because of this, a journey that was to last 40 days became 40 years to enable that generation that believed the evil report pass away. “And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.” Numbers 14 :33.
Abraham believed God even when there was no reason to believe and it was imputed unto him as righteousness (Rom. 4 :18 – 19). He hoped against hope. “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” Romans 4 :21-22.
Child of God, that challenge, that hindrance that situation you are in now, whose report do you believe? Maybe you are staying long in the place of waiting because of the report you believe. Believe what God has told you, believe His Word and your heart desires shall come to pass.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to always believe your promises for every situation I am in.
